Cookie Policy
This site sets no cookies. This page explains what that means and what would have to change before it stopped being true.
How we count visitors instead
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see roughly how many people visit and which pages they read. It is built to work without cookies: instead of storing an identifier in your browser, it derives a value from your IP address, your browser's user agent and the page path, and that value changes every day.
The practical consequences are worth stating plainly. We cannot recognise you when you come back tomorrow, we cannot follow you to another website, and we never see your raw IP address — Vercel discards it after deriving the daily value. What we get is counts, not people.
We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding whether the site works (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, the consent rule in the ePrivacy Directive does not apply.
The Kaji Meals app
The app is a separate thing from this website and does not use cookies either. It does keep data on your device — that is what lets it work offline — and the Kaji Meals privacy policy describes what and why.
If this changes
If we add the ability to sign in to this website, we will need a session cookie so your browser can remember you are signed in. A cookie like that is classed as strictly necessary and does not require consent, but we will describe it here before it is used.
If we ever wanted advertising, cross-site measurement or analytics that relies on cookies, we would have to ask your permission before setting anything, and you would see a consent banner. We have no plans to do that.
